Donor sperm is used for severe male-factor infertility, single women (legally permitted) and couples with high genetic risk. Samples come only from ART-Act licensed sperm banks with documented quarantine, repeat infection screening and genetic carrier testing.

The Surrogacy (Regulation) Act 2021 permits only altruistic gestational surrogacy in India. Commercial surrogacy is prohibited. Eligibility is restricted to legally married Indian heterosexual couples (with documented medical indication for surrogacy) and certain categories of single Indian women. The surrogate must be a close relative, married, with at least one biological child of her own.
